Completing the game on Normal difficulty unlocks Nightmare, and then completing that unlocks Hell. Both have additional twists that make the gameplay more engaging, and new items become available as well.
Getting all of its achievements or trophies, for example, will take hundreds of hours, as it requires players to complete Hell difficulty with each available character class, as well as reach level 99 with a Hardcore character. Needless to say, some might have had their fill of Diablo 2: Resurrected after just tens of hours, but others will still be playing it after hundreds or even thousands of hours.
First and foremost among these is the fact that Diablo 2: Resurrected is not exactly a short title. Although rogue-like titles and short, multiplayer-focused experiences are more and more common these days, Diablo 2: Resurrected is a remake of an old-school isometric RPG. PC players seem to be finishing the game in around 27 hours, and yes, that is by no means brief. Players should strap in for the long haul with this one. The game takes place over a total of Five Acts , each with a series of quests, mostly optional, that players really should complete. Basically, all you need to know is it's in 3D and the dynamic lighting will gel with the new models.
Expect 4K and high refresh rate support. The surround sound mastering is new, but the sound effects themselves are not. The things you have those Pavlovian response to, knowing it's Diablo 2. Those are the sounds you're still going to hear. A shared item stash: Say goodbye to mule characters.
